50-50 is a comedy/drama that focuses on the life of a young man
diagnosed with cancer. At first the man seems to have a loving
girlfriend and a mom who wants to move in with him to take care of
him. A plot twist develops involving a possible romance with
the man's therapist. Three stars.
This movie ranks as non-violent because there are only six violent
scenes in it and few people die. There is a story about a dog
being abused at a shelter, there are machine guns in a movie on TV,
there is a TV show about a shark eating its prey, an artist has her
painting destroyed, one of the patients at the hospital dies of
cancer and there is some crazy driving.
The previews included: Two non-violent commercials, a non-violent
preview for Bored To Death, somewhat violent previews for The Big
Year and Jack and Jill and violent previews for Johnny English
Reborn and Man On A Ledge.
