Babies is a nice, easy look at --- you guessed it --- babies.
Babies from all over the world are shown here. The movie alternates
between showing a baby in a western country (or Japan) and showing
babies in Africa or some such primitive place where they wear hardly
any clothes. Three stars.
The producers can't resist throwing in a bit of baby scale "violence"
or would you call it "action". There are a total of 8 violent or
"action" scenes in this movie, not including the scene where the
African mom is shaving her baby's head with a knife (which doesn't
count). The scenes include: Two babies hitting each other and one of
them cries, a puppy playfully biting someone's feet, a kid dragging a
cat gently by its neck, a kid hits a baby with a scarf and the baby
cries, baby crashes bike after riding it off the end of a mini
roller-coaster, but there is no crying, baby hits the mother in the
face, a kid falls off a scooter and cries a little and one more time a
kid drags a cat by the neck.
This movie was shown at the Blue Light Cinemas with no previews.
