Bel Ami chronicles the life of a young aspiring aristocrat wannabe
who spends most of his off hours womanizing various women, one of
whom is his wife. His wife has a few tricks up her sleeve too. This
movie is a thoroughly depressing take on late 19th century
capitalism. 3 stars.
This movie ranks as nonviolent because it has only four violent
scenes in it. A woman slaps a man, a man coughs up blood, a man
throws a glass at another man and two men get into a brawl at a bar.
There are some characters smoking in this movie.
The previews include two nonviolent commercials and nonviolent
previews for Peace, Love & Misunderstanding, Trishna, Elena and
Take This Waltz.
