Review for The Magic Of Belle Isle PG Drama 1:49

Morgan Freeman stars as a retired writer named Monte Wildhorn who takes a summer vacation, dog sitting at a friend's house by a lake in the town of Belle Isle.  Monte encounters his next door neighbors who consist of a single mother (Virginia Madsen) and three daughters (Madeline Carrol, Emma Fuhrmann, Nicolette Pierini). Monte becomes a mentor of one of the daughters and for one other daughter he writes bedtime stories.  Five stars.

This movie ranks as iffy because it has a total of 17 mildly violent scenes in it. These include a story of a forest fire, one sister throws water on another sister, someone is threatening to commit suicide, there is a story about a man who would bite off a girl's toe, a man smashes a glass, there is a story about wanting to shoot cell phone users, there is a story of a massacre, there is a story of a suicide, there is a story of influenza, there is a violent video game, there is a story of an attack against a woman, a bounce house gets punctured by a spear, a man fires a gun in the air and threatens a clown, a boy almost drowns, there is a story of a drunk driving accident and a story of a wife's death.  There is no smoking in this movie.

The previews include a nonviolent commercial, a violent commercial for the too violent TV series Copper and nonviolent previews for Anna Kaneria, The Well Digger's Daughter and Robot & Frank.
