Breathless 50th Anniversary NR
1:29 Drama/Romance
In this 2010 reprint of the 1960 classic in French with English
subtitles, Michel Poiccard (Jean-Paul Belmondo) is a small time
crook on the run from the law in Paris after shooting a cop. He teams
up with an old girlfriend Patricia (Jean Seberg) to see if he can make
it to Italy. Before they depart, he and his girlfriend have a bit
of a romance, but ultimately the girlfriend betrays Michel. Three
stars.
There are nine violent scenes in this movie, most of which are pretty
tame, considering that this is a gangster flick. Michel is waiving a
gun from inside his car, then a cop gets shot (not too graphic), a man
gets hit by a car, Michel mugs a man in a restroom, Michel gently
threatens to strangle Patricia if she doesn't smile, Patricia slaps
Michel, twice, Michel mugs another man, and a man gets fatally shot.
The previews include a violent preview for Lebanon, a somewhat violent
preview for Nowhere Boy and non-violent previews for The Social Network
and Mao's Last Dancer.
