Charlie St. Cloud PG-13 1:49 Romance/Drama
Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron) has everything going for him at
first. He has a sailing scholarship that will give him a full
ride at Stanford. This is cut short when his younger brother Sam
(Charlie Tahan) is killed in a car accident. Then the movie
evolves into a male version of The Ghost Whisperer, with Charlie seeing
ghosts everywhere. He even plays catch with one of them. Then he
must decide if he is going to continue flirting with ghosts forever or
rescue someone who is still among the living and move on with his
life. 4 stars.
There are only six violent scenes or references to violence in this
movie: a car accident, Charlie punches a bar patron in the jaw,
Charlie tears up his room, a woman appears to have died in a storm, and
there is a somewhat violent confrontation with a boat owner.
There are also some references to some buddies of Charlie's who died in
a war.
The previews include a somewhat violent cartoon called The Mouse That
Soared, violent previews for Lottery Ticket and Scott Pilgrim vs The
World, and non-violent previews for Flipped, Step Up and Eat Pray Love.
