Despicable Me PG
Action/Adventure/Comedy
This latest cartoon journey into the land of evil villanry is a mild,
kid friendly movie. The plot focuses on one old washed up villan
who has had a lifelong dream of stealing the moon. The villan
comes of age and decides to adopt three little girls at first as part
of his evil plot, but then...things change. Four stars.
The movie is iffy because it has 18 violent scenes in it, most of which
are pretty tame. A man is run over by a caravan, tanks are
shooting at random, the villan uses the freeze gun on people, freezing
them solid, a dog bites the villan's hand, a munchkin hits another over
the head, a munchkin shoots a rocket into a crowd, Grandma kicks the
punching bag which ends up hurling the instructor, some pillars are
constructed picturing minions being crushed beneath them, one villan
uses the ice gun on another villan, someone shoots at the villan's
rocket, villan gets punched, and blown up, kid kicks mad scientist,
villan blows up game stand, one munchkin punches another, adoption
agent hits villan with a book, villan electrocutes another villan,
missiles blow up villan's house.
The previews included: non-violent previews for Smurfed, Alpha and
Omega, Ramona and Beezus, and Nanny McPhee Returns as well as a
somewhat violent preview for Cats and Dogs.
