Dolphin Tale is a drama based on a true story about a dolphin
named Winter who has her tail amputated after getting caught in
a crab trap, with the fishing line wrapped around her. The
11 year old boy who rescues Winter is the only one that the
dolphin responds to during her recovery and so he skips summer
school class to help take care of her. Such truancy lands
the boy in hot water at first, but his mom relents after seeing
how engaged the boy is with caring for Winter. The real life
Winter can be viewed online by visiting
