Review for Girl In Progress
PG-13 Comedy/Drama 1:32

Girl In Progress chronicles a brief passage in the life of a
teenaged girl named Ansiedad (Cierra Ramirez) who is often neglected
by her single mother Grace (Eva Mendes) who is busy juggling bills,
jobs and her two love interests (Matthew Modine, Eugenio
Derbez). After getting assignments in English class to do with
coming of age experiences, Ansiedad decides to speed up the process
of growing up and hatches an elaborate plan that includes dumping
her best friend and losing her virginity, all on a whim. Will she
wake up to reality before she blows it big time? Tune in and find
out. Three stars.
This movie ranks as little or no violence because there are two
violent stories and only one on screen violent scene. These include:
there is a story of domestic abuse, a girl gets doused with drinks
and there is a story of an attempted suicide.
The previews include a violent preview for the too violent movie For
Greater Glory, somewhat violent previews for Twilight Saga Breaking
Dawn Part 2 and Searching For A Friend For The End Of The World and
nonviolent previews for Step Up Revolution, People Like Us and Lola
Versus.
