Review for Monsieur Lazhar PG-13 Drama 1:34

Monsieur Lazhar chronicles the life at one classroom of a school in Montreal, Canada where a school teacher committed suicide by hanging herself. A refugee from Algiers represents that he has a teaching background and takes over the vacant teaching job.  The refugee was in fear for his life if he continued to live in Algiers because of a controversial book that his wife published.  In French with English subtitles. Four stars.

This movie ranks as nonviolent because it has only 7 violent scenes in it. There is a person found hanging, there is a story of death threats, there is a story of a group of people dieing in a fire, there is a story of a suicide, there is a scene where two kids get into a fight, there is a story of a wolf eating a lamb and there is a story of torture and suicide.

The previews include: a nonviolent commercial, nonviolent previews for Elena, Darling Companion and First Position and a violent preview for The Hunter.
