Review for New Year's Eve PG-13 Drama/Comedy 1:57
by  John Thielking
12-9-2011

.New Year's Eve focuses on guess what? the lives and tribulations of a few people experiencing New Year's Eve 2011-2012 in New York City.  One woman has a list of things she wants to accomplish before midnight, including a trip to Bali.  There is a contest at the local hospital where the first baby of the new year wins the lucky couple $25,000. One guy is so disgusted and disillusioned with the fanfare surrounding New Year's Eve that he takes down all the decorations in the hallway of his apartment building.  Will the ball drop on time in Times Square or will someone screw that up this year?  Tune in and find out.  Two stars.

This movie ranks as nonviolent because there are only 10 scenes of very mild violence. These include: a car runs a woman off the road, a woman slaps a man, a man has a minor car accident, a couple is talking about one of them slapping the other, a woman slaps a man a second time, a woman destroys her desk phone, a woman throws eggs at a poster, there is a story about Vietnam, there is a soldier talking to his woman over the Internet and a couple talk about the slapping incident again.

The previews included: somewhat violent previews for The Vow, Titanic 3D, The Five Year Engagement and nonviolent previews for We Bought A Zoo and Joyful Noise.
