.New Year's Eve focuses on guess what? the lives and tribulations of
a few people experiencing New Year's Eve 2011-2012 in New York
City. One woman has a list of things she wants to accomplish
before midnight, including a trip to Bali. There is a contest
at the local hospital where the first baby of the new year wins the
lucky couple $25,000. One guy is so disgusted and disillusioned with
the fanfare surrounding New Year's Eve that he takes down all the
decorations in the hallway of his apartment building. Will the
ball drop on time in Times Square or will someone screw that up this
year? Tune in and find out. Two stars.
This movie ranks as nonviolent because there are only 10 scenes of
very mild violence. These include: a car runs a woman off the road,
a woman slaps a man, a man has a minor car accident, a couple is
talking about one of them slapping the other, a woman slaps a man a
second time, a woman destroys her desk phone, a woman throws eggs at
a poster, there is a story about Vietnam, there is a soldier talking
to his woman over the Internet and a couple talk about the slapping
incident again.
