Katie (Katie Featherston) and Kristi Ray (Sprague Grayden) are the
two sisters who starred in Paranormal Activity 1 and Paranormal
Activity 2. This movie is a prequel to the other two movies,
so Katie and Kristi appear as 10 year old kids. One of the
kids thinks that there is an Imaginary Friend named Toby hanging
around and pestering her in the middle of the night. Because
of the strange goings on, strange noises and things going bump in
the night, live-in boyfriend Dennis (Chris Smith) sets up two vhs
cameras to record everything that happens in the house. Most
of the time, life is uneventful, untill apparently Toby gets pissed
off. Then all bets are off. Three stars.
This movie barely qualifies as non-violent, with only 10 violent
scenes in it and two deaths. The violent scenes include: a
pinata gets bashed by some kids, there is an earthquake, a light
fixture blows up, there is some poltergeist activity, a girl gets
her hair pulled, a girl goes scooting across a room, junk goes
flying in the kitchen, a woman gets thrown down the stairs and a man
gets thrown backwards and killed.
The previews include: a violent preview for The Devil Inside,
somewhat violent previews for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Tower
Heist, A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas and Chronicle 2012 and
a nonviolent preview for Young Adult.
