Pina 3D is a foreign language film's answer to Glee. It is
composed mostly of instrumental dance routines performed on stage
and on a traffic island in some foreign country that has a nice
monorail system. Other than that, I'm not really sure what it's
about. The 3D part of it is over rated and just leads to spending
more money for a movie that would have been just as good as a 2D
movie. There are some leaf blowing effects, dancers in the
foreground, subtitles and railings that pop out of the screen to
take advantage of the 3D effects, but sometimes the 3D effects just
end up all blurry in the foreground. Three stars.
There is only one scene that could be loosely characterized as being
violent. Some of the dancers spit water onto each other.
The previews included: One nonviolent and one somewhat violent
commercial, nonviolent previews for Marigold Hotel and Salmon
Fishing In The Yemen, a somewhat violent preview for Jeff Who Lives
At Home and violent previews for In Darkness and Being Flynn.
